Olivia Shimmin was born November 17, 2001 and got her first motorcycle a 2006 Honda CRF70F when she was six. After about a year of riding the Honda and the excitement of racing starting to get into her veins, and her brother getting a KTM, we started the search for a KTM 50SX Sr. for Olivia and purchased one in May 2009. In addition to racing 50cc modified classes on her KTM, Olivia also races in stock classes on her Honda just to get more seat time on the tracks we race.
Olivia started racing dirt-tracks in March 2009 in the Chowchilla California Barn Burner Series and in May 2009, started racing motocross at Little Okie Spring Series in Madera California as a member of the California Motocross Association in the 50cc First Timer class on her KTM and the 9-12 open class on her Honda. Olivia continues to race at Little Okie in the Summer Series and is currently running 1st in the 50cc First Timer class and 3rd place for the series in the 50cc 7-8 Open. After Little Okie Summer Series is finished in August, we will move to dirt-track in the fall and race from September to March at the Chowchilla Barn Burner Series.
Olivia practices to improve her motocross skills weekly at Tulare Cycle Park located in Tulare California and also at home where she hones her flat-track skills. She also looks forward to family trips to Hollister Hills SVRA where she enjoys trail riding as well as practicing on all of the different tracks they offer. Olivia competes vigorously with her younger brother Carson Shimmin who also races motocross. Olivia is going to be in the 3rd grade and is a 4.0 student, excelling in reading, writing, and spelling. Her extracurricular activities include playing the piano and learning the guitar.
Olivia is extremely competitive and dedicated to the sports of motocross and dirt-track racing and is very excited at the prospect of having sponsors. She is very outgoing and will be a great addition to any team.
